Untangld, an innovative strategy studio based in Australia, approached us with an exciting challenge: to redesign their website and create an irresistible platform for potential clients and collaborators.

With their expanding presence and international growth, they needed a digital space to showcase their exceptional thinking and establish their unique position in the industry.

An idea-led platform

Unlike traditional agencies and consultancies relying heavily on creative case studies, Untangld wanted to lead with exceptional thinking, offering visitors an immersive experience of their meticulous process and strategic integrity. To capture this essence, we crafted an editorial-inspired look and feel, seamlessly merging the worlds of consulting and online publishing. This approach provides the perfect stage to present their thought-provoking insights and compelling case studies that challenge conventional wisdom.

Putting faces to the ideas

One of the key aspects of the website was to establish a direct connection between the thinking and the people behind it. In breaking away from the traditional anonymity of agency teams, we made a deliberate choice to create a bio profile for each team member. These profiles feature a library of their insights and thinking, allowing us to recognize and showcase the unique perspectives of each individual. By doing so, we celebrate the diversity and richness that defines Untangld as a collective of talented problem-solvers.

Bringing ideas to life through illustration

To make some of the abstract ideas more approachable, we carefully commissioned a series of illustrations that align with the subject matter of each article. These hand-picked illustrations span a diverse range of styles, adding visual depth and richness to the content.

Crafting an engaging and functional experience

While the primary aim of the website was to translate an editorial look and feel, it was equally important to showcase Untangld as a dynamic and innovative agency. To achieve this, we partnered with Andrew Cunneen to create an immersive and engaging user experience.

We focused not only on the visual aesthetics but also on the functionality of the website. Ensuring that even the more functional aspects of the site felt seamless and intuitive, with clear navigation and the right features to create a more enjoyable and memorable experience.

Beyond digital

Throughout the collaborative process with the Untangld team, it quickly became evident that this project extended far beyond the realm of a simple website.

In addition to designing the website, we conducted a comprehensive review and refresh of their brand assets. This included implementing a new typeface, refreshing the colour palette, and establishing a new visual language that reflects the website's overall look and feel.

We worked with the talented Seb Agresti to develop a captivating collection of illustrations, that reflect their personality and ambition.
The end result strikes the perfect balance between sleek and clean editorial design, infused with a touch of wit and irreverence that makes Untangld truly unique.
