A bit of context

The Commercial is an independent gallery based in Sydney’s Inner West. Known for its sharp curatorial eye and unique space, it has spent the past decade challenging expectations of what a commercial gallery can be.

The problem to crack

As their 10th anniversary approached, The Commercial needed a new identity and website—something that reflected their position in the art world while doing justice to their distinct point of view.

What we did about it

We built a brand identity grounded in the space itself. Inspired by the gallery’s tall concrete walls and brutalist feel, we created a confident, pared-back system with a custom logotype at its core. The result is an identity that holds space—quietly bold, unmistakably The Commercial.
